Mission Statement
Our mission is to deepen our mesological understanding of the human-environment relationship and to apply our insights to the fields of spatial planning, landscape design, and public space management. Considering the dynamic nature of human-environment relationships, we engage with a broad spectrum of foundational theories and methodologies, encompassing the fundamental theories of landscape, place-reading methodologies, analyses of regional spatial structures and landscapes, as well as socio-spatial and systematic analysis of cultural landscapes. We also focus on the aesthetic and experiential aspects of landscape, alongside the planning, design, and management methodologies for urban public spaces and regional planning.
As engineers situated at the intersection of civil engineering, landscape architecture, and architecture, we pursue outcomes from a socio-engineering standpoint. Our foundational theories and methodologies are rooted in landscape engineering, an interdisciplinary approach that not only encompasses our core disciplines but also integrates elements from geography, sociology, art, and history studies, among others. This enriched framework allows us to draw upon a diverse range of perspectives and expertise, enhancing our capacity to innovate and apply our insights in the complex field of human-environment relationships.
Our research is highlighted through case studies on waterfront public spaces, heritage sites, cultural landscapes, and urban public spaces, all aimed at fostering social contribution and international cooperation. Through our endeavors, we strive to innovate and contribute to a sustainable future, revealing the spectrum of value possibilities within dynamic and diverse engagements with our environment.
